SANTARCANGELO DI ROMAGNA

There are many reasons why it is worth visiting Santarcangelo: its strong local identity and the atmosphere of a large village, where life follows a gentle pace. The architectural beauty of its elegant palaces, houses, alleyways and small squares, which have earned it the title of "city of art". As well as the international events and village festivals, that enliven it with their wonderful flavours. This medieval town is located on the Via Emilia, 20 KM FROM RICCIONE.

SAN LEO

San Leo is another charming village overlooking the entire valley. It is a place not to be missed. Here there is a large fortress as well as an ancient pre-Romanesque parish church and the Romanesque cathedral. San Leo has rightfully been included among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy.

GRADARA

On the border between Romagna and Marche lies Gradara. A medieval village that will satisfy all those who love castles and poignant love stories. In fact, it is here that the famous lovers Paolo and Francesca, as chronicled by Dante in the Divine Comedy, are said to have died. Gradara won, in 2018, the competition among the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy.

SAN MARINO

The hinterland opens up with a town that is an absolute must-see destination: San Marino, the oldest independent state in the world. Here you can wander around the old town centre, discover the strange museums such as the vampire or torture museum and visit the many small shops. Moreover, from the top of Mount Titano, the view is spectacular!

SALUDECIO – MONDAINO – MONTEGRIDOLFO

Visit the three Malatesta castles that served as a defensive crown against Montefeltro. Each has its own special features. The round 19th-century square and fortress in Mondaino (with its palaeontological museum). The mediaeval village with its large 18th-century street lined with magnificent frescoed palaces in Saludecio, which also houses a museum of sacred art (with 17th-century masterpieces from Rimini: Cagnacci and Centino) and a modern open-air museum featuring murals in the alleyways. Finally, the unspoilt village of Montegridolfo, whose peacefulness seems to take us back to ancient times.

It is the perfect place to savour the typical flavours of Romagna cuisine, as well as a romantic candlelight dinner.
